How do I know if my floors need restoration or just a deep clean?
Where is epoxy flooring best utilized?
If water absorbs into the wood rather than beading up, or if you see graying wood and deep scratches, it is time for a full restoration. A 'screen and recoat' is often enough for surface-level wear.
Epoxy is ideal for garages, basements, and workshops due to its resistance to moisture, chemicals, and heavy wear. Metallic options are also popular for modern residential interiors.
How long does the refinishing process take?
How soon can I drive on my new epoxy floor?
A typical project takes 3 to 5 days. This includes sanding, staining, and applying high-quality polyurethane coats with necessary drying time between layers.
Foot traffic is typically safe after 24 hours. However, we recommend waiting 72 hours before parking vehicles on the surface to ensure the coating has fully cured.
What is the best way to maintain my new floors?
Are epoxy floors slippery when wet?
Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit. Use a professional-grade wood cleaner and avoid excessive water. Always place felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratching.
Smooth epoxy can be slick, but we add specialized anti-slip additives—like polymer grit or textured quartz—into the topcoat to provide excellent traction without affecting the look.
Direct UV rays are hardwood's enemy. Close your blinds during peak sun hours or use area rugs to prevent localized fading and keep that rich stain uniform.
Hot Tire Care
During a heatwave, hot car tires can soften the topcoat of a fresh epoxy install. Place small pieces of cardboard under tires for the first two weeks to ensure a perfect lifetime bond.

Buff & Coat
Did you know that the dry, Colorado air can take a toll on your beautiful wood floors. Regular maintenance on your floors will expand the life, and give it that brand new look again! I recommend getting them buffed and coated every 2-3 years.
Ditch the Steam Mop
Steam forces moisture into the wood grain, causing planks to swell and buckle. Stick to a barely damp microfiber mop and a pH-neutral wood cleaner.
Easy Cleaning
Stop using wax or high-residue cleaners. A simple mixture of ammonia and warm water (or ammonia-free Windex) is all you need to cut through garage grime and restore that glass shine.
